Just Edging
2026Right-sized local sales system
Real project photography, local search structure and a text-first quote path — where the correct answer was a simpler system, and it deliberately stayed that way.
The problem
A local edging and lawn service needed to be found and to convert, competing against directory listings and lead-resale sites that sell the same lead to four contractors.
The temptation with a business like this is to build a booking platform. That would have been the wrong system — the work is quoted from a photo and a street address, not scheduled from a catalog.
The approach
I built for the actual buying path: someone finds the business on their phone, wants a number, and does not want a form that promises a callback within two business days.
Real photography of real jobs instead of stock imagery, direct pricing where pricing could be direct, local search structure that matches how the service is actually searched for, and a text-first quote path that opens a conversation in the channel the customer already uses.
Deliberately no account system, no dashboard, no app. Every piece of software that was not needed is a piece that cannot break or need maintenance.
Where it landed
A site that answers the question the customer arrived with and starts the conversation in one tap.
Nothing to administer — the owner's involvement is replying to texts.
Next step
Tell me where the business is losing time.
No pitch deck and no discovery-call funnel. Describe the bottleneck and I will tell you plainly whether it is worth building something for, and roughly what that would take.
